in October of 1996. We were visiting them in DC the weekend that
the AIDS quilt was laid out on the mall in front of the Captiol. |

New Year's Eve dinner, and here they are after the stroke of
midnight. Formerly residents of Durham, they have moved on to
Virginia, where Elizabeth has taken on curatiorial tasks at Monticello. |
